Introduction to Red Cross Kalangala Branch

Red Cross Kalangala Branch was established in 2003 the scope of activities in the field covers 84 islands that are all scattered in Lake Victoria. It’s situated in kalangala town council on plot 90 Bugala road. The existence of the Branch is mainly contributed by the Headquarter support and other development partners like Swedish Red Cross, action aid kalangala, Kalangala district local government, and the membership.
It has a total of 20,000 members and 1,000 volunteers. The islands’ environment is very unique and so as their challenges. Main activities of Red Cross are: Disaster management, first aid trainings and services, Adolescence sexual reproductive health education, restoration of family links, HIV/AIDS sensitization, peer education, dissemination of International Humanitarian Law, membership recruitment, community service, blood donation, youth and junior camps, youth exchange programs among others.

It has a branch governing board comprising of Mr. Musoke Francis Xavier as chairperson, Dr. Banda Godfrey as vice chairperson, Mr. Kitatire Eugene as treasurer, Ms. Judith Turyaganyirwa as a member, Ms. Sanyu Naume as a member, Lugambiso Robert as Branch youth chairperson, Nakabiito Milly as Vice youth, The RDC kalangala as Patron.

The Brand Manager for Kalangala is Mr. Ibrahim Ssenyonga 


and a Focal Person by the names of Mr. Ssekalala Pascal
