The disaster happened between 4:00 am and 7:00am in the morning of 14th march 2013. This followed heavy rains that started late in the night, that continued up to 1:00pm.
The Branch RCAT team of 6 members led by the Branch manager and also the O.C marine kalangala police station was sent to carry out an assessment which included the followings;
These winds are commonly known as “Ensoke” in the fishing community (sychron).  The wind blow 75 houses into the lake and got drowned completely. 79 were destroyed but not drowned in the lake, while 51 were partially destroyed with blowing off the roofs and taking them to the forest and the lake.

This kind of wind comes like a rainbow with light winds which suddenly become strong and lives nothing in the trend it takes, leading to excess destructions due to extra force.
