FIGHTING HIV/AIDS AMONG THE YOUTH THROUGH SPORTS

Red Cross Kalangala Branch organised a youth soccer gala that involved football, netball and beach volley ball, sponsored by the Polish Aid through Hear Africa Foundation. The gala attracted 5 soccer teams, 3 net bll teams and 3 beach volley ball teams.
The gala was aimed at making the youths understand the importance of staying in school and using  talent development to prevent acquisiton of the deadly HIV VIRUS. Victoria boys emerged the champions of football, Sserwangarwanga memorial school emerged champions for netball and Kalangala town council link emerged champions for beach volley ball.

The gala took place at Lutoboka play ground for football and netball, while beach volley ball was played at Pearl gardens beach Kalangala.
